Registration is now complete and I’m happy to report we have 326 entries for this year’s show. Well done!! Quilts Around Town have 50 quilts and businesses sharing news of our show, very exciting for our first foray into this advertising mode. These quilts will be in the businesses the first of May so if you happen to see one of the quilts displayed, please thank the shop for taking part in this opportunity.
Quilt collection for the show is one day only, Wednesday, June 12 from 10am to 7pm at the Jacklin Building, Kootenai County Fairgrounds. Be sure to attach a label with your name, address and phone number on the back of the quilt and have this label displayed in the plastic bag when you bring your quilt in. Bags are available for 25cents at the May 20 NIQ meeting.
It’s A Quilt World After all will be in the Jacklin Building at the fairgrounds June 14 & 15, parking is free and enter off Kathleen Ave. Set up is Thursday, June 13. The show opens Friday at 10am to 6pm and Saturday 10am to 5pm. Admission is $7 and good for both days. Voting for your favorite quilts will be on Friday with ribbons displayed on Saturday. Be sure to cast your ballot!
Our featured quilter, Barb Lambrecht , will have a great display of her imaginative quilts. Quilts of Valor is its own category this year and our quilt Challenge is “Out of the Box”. The guild will be highlighted with the membership table, community service, kid’s camp as well as our beautiful raffle quilt, Country Courthouse. Tickets for the raffle quilt are still available at the guild meeting and at the show. This quilt was made by you, the guild members and it’s a beauty! Our fat quarter raffle will be held both days and you will have the opportunity to purchase tickets at the show and cast your tickets in your favorite bucket for either day. We’ve had a great response for fat quarter donations so the baskets will be very full!
We have a nice variety of merchant vendors this year and our own Country Store is packed full of items you won’t be able to pass by!
We will also have a coffee truck and an ice cream truck on the grounds for you to enjoy, and rest awhile. Of course no food or drinks are allowed in the show! An ATM machine will also be available.
The quilt show is your show as guild members and it can’t succeed without many hands to help with the multitude of tasks to make it a success. We still need volunteers for all areas and sign up forms will be at the NIQ meeting. Please plan to help in any way that you can, it’s a lot of fun and an opportunity to meet your fellow quilters!
