Farm to Table

May 24 & 25, 2017

Watch the Fairgrounds come alive with 5th graders from Lakeland School District and Post Falls School District as they learn just how their food gets from the Farm to their table!

As the world continues to change it is incredibly important that we all understand the role agriculture plays in our everyday life. The Goal at Farm to Table Day is to help increase the understanding on how food and fiber products are produced. Share that our country has one of the most abundant, safe and affordable food supplies in the world. In addition, agriculture is one of America’s top industries and therefore is a key component to the economy.

This will be an opportunity for elementary students to participate in a day of exploration, education, and activities to increase their understanding of agriculture and where their food comes from. Stations include Beef, Dairy, Sheep, Vegetables, Soils, Water, Bees, Wheat and so much more. Half way through the day all who participate are served a lunch that has a direct connection to what they learn about during the day. Students and teachers alike commonly share "Best field trip EVER!"
