The Farm to Table program at the Kootenai County Fairgrounds is a hands-on agricultural education experience designed to connect students with the people, practices, and purpose behind their food.
Each year, the Fairgrounds proudly welcomes Kootenai County 5th graders for a day of immersive learning that brings agriculture to life. Students meet local farmers and producers, explore how food is grown and raised, and gain a deeper understanding of the journey from farm to table.
This past year, more than 1,900 students participated in the program—engaging directly with educators and agricultural leaders who are passionate about sharing their knowledge. Along the way, over 2,500 hamburgers were served, giving students a tangible and memorable connection between agriculture and the meals they enjoy every day.
Farm to Table is more than an educational event—it’s an investment in the next generation. The program helps build respect for agriculture, strengthens ties between youth and local producers, and reinforces the importance of Idaho’s farming and ranching traditions.
We extend our sincere thanks to the producers, educators, leaders, and volunteers who make this program possible year after year. Your dedication is helping keep tradition alive—one student at a time.
