Featured Farmers

Kim and her husband, Andy, have lived on their ranch in the Garwood area for over 30 years. Over the years, they have raised American Quarter Horses, and Longhorn, Corriente, and Hereford cattle. While Andy grows Timothy hay for the critters, Kim has always enjoyed spending time in her big garden. Having retired from local law enforcement in 2021, Kim found her love of gardening would drive her to grow hops. Note just a plant or two around the year, Andy and Kim put in the infrastructure to grow 200 hops plants on 1/8 of an acre! Their business, Alpine Prime Hops and Herefords, currently focuses on growing two varieties of hops as well as Hereford cattle.
